Sexy Boy

Although he was born in England, he describes himself a Scot. He’s over 70-years-old, and yet he’s still a teenager at heart: dishevelled blond hair, chilled-out attitude and hobbies including football, model-making and beautiful women. He’s a massive fan of Glasgow’s Celtic FC (his tours are arranged to make sure he never misses a match by his beloved team), and he has a huge model railway taking up two whole rooms in his Los Angeles home.

But Rod Stewart isn’t just famous for his distinctive voice and hairstyle – he’s also an infamous womaniser. His first hit Maggie May was inspired by a teenage dalliance, and his romantic tendencies have resulted in three marriages (his current wife, Penny, is 26 years his junior) and eight children.

Stewart has been an active vocalist for close to half a century and he never shied away from experiments, making him difficult to pigeonhole. His style continually evolves, intertwining folk, blues, rock’n’roll, disco, pop and jazz standards, and he is equally at home in each genre. On 19 February, Tauron Arena Kraków resounds with the artist’s greatest hits, such as Angel, Sailing, Baby Jane and Do Ya Think I’m Sexy. (Artur Jackowski, "Karnet" monthly)
