Resonant July

29 June 2018

We haven’t recovered yet from all the emotions of June, and the next round of events is already tempting us – assuming the weather is clement, of course. EtnoKraków/Crossroads, the Jazz Night and the 31st ULICA Street Theatre Festival are mainly held out in the open air, while many of the two hundred concerts of the Summer Jazz Festival are all about going out in the evenings. If classical sounds are more your thing, you can spend your weekends at the Festival of Polish Music. And don’t forget the special concert held as part of the prestigious cycle ICE Classic: Kraków welcomes Kent Nagano and his Montreal Symphony Orchestra as part of the celebrations of the 85th birthday of Krzysztof Penderecki.

2018 also sees the return of the International Print Triennial – unlike in previous years, the majority of the events are held during the summer months. The Triennial serves as testament of the renaissance of graphic arts, whose revival can be at least in part ascribed to digital technologies – all hail the organisers for being able to keep up with the changes! And since July is the hottest month in Poland, let’s take a breather in the great outdoors during Cracovian picnics, join the events of Boulev[art] at the Nowa Huta Reservoir, or simply take a stroll or a bike ride along the beautiful, green banks of the Vistula.

Let's go!
