Czarnoziem is a duo created by Dawid Dąbrowski (modular synthesiser) and Michał Giżycki (bass clarinet, saxophones).
Using the possibilities of a wide genre spectrum - from experimental electronics, improvised music to echoes of free jazz and contemporary electroacoustic music - the duo creates their own independent narrative language.
An intensive process of rehearsals, sessions and concerts has clarified their sound and steered them towards deeper communication and textural clarity. As a result, the musicians have developed a common creative dimension in which they create coherent structures and dynamics. Without sacrificing their individuality, the duo inspire each other in sound, narrative and expression. From stillness, sonoristic minimalism, through dense magma drones, enigmatic melodic lines to wild noise and ecstatic free.
The debut album, SOCHA, will be released on March 22 this year, through Gusstaff Records.
