Leaving home aged just 15 isn’t the greatest idea ever. Jay Kay realised things have gone too far when he barely escaped death by stabbing. The experience inspired him to make two important decisions: to return home, and to channel his energy into music. The former helped him regain inner balance, while the latter had a major impact on club dancefloors. Founded by Kay in the early 1990s, Jamiroquai (interlock of “jam” and “iroquai”; the latter is based on the Iroquois, a Native American confederacy) intertwine house music with soul and funk. On 23 May, the authors of hits Cosmic Girl and Virtual Insanity from the album Travelling Without Moving take us on a journey through their music at Tauron Arena Kraków.
