In the 21st century, change accompanies us at all levels and in all spheres of life – from the most mundane everyday tasks to global issues. On one hand it drives progress and fosters development and success, while on the other it is commonly responsible for frustration and a sense of being lost and excluded in the constantly changing reality. “Change has even affected art, which follows the dynamics of modern time to explore the possibilities offered by new media and problematises issues faced by humankind as we adopt the ever-accelerating rhythm of change,” we read on the website of the Cracow Gallery Weekend KRAKERS, organised by the Wschód Sztuki Foundation. CHANGE is the leading theme of the seventh festival, joined by more than fifty Cracovian galleries, foundations, associations, groups and informal initiatives. As happens every year, there will be evening vernissages and accompanying events, including tours of art galleries in different districts of Kraków and guided viewings at individual museums. The event also includes a competition for best gallery exhibition, as voted for by a jury of experts and the public. (dd)
