The somewhat forgotten Władysław Żeleński (1837-1921) – composer, pianist, pedagogue, conductor and founder and director of the Conservatory of Music in Kraków – is slowly emerging from the shadows. Held to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the artist’s birth, the Władysław Żeleński and Music Salons in Kraków Festival recalls his songs (9 November), piano quartets (19 November) and piano trios (23 November), intertwined with compositions by Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. During the concerts held at the main hall of the W. Żeleński Music High School we will hear artists including Magdalena Molendowska (soprano), Maria Sławek (violin), Marcin Zdunik (cello) and Grzegorz Mania and Piotr Różański (piano). (Barbara Skowrońska)
