With Bated Breath
The Nowa Huta Cultural Centre has a real treat for lovers of contemporary dance! The BalletOFFFestival (16-19 November) brings together a wide range of choreographic concepts of ballet and dance theatre. The festival opens with the spectacle Godos by the Aura Dance Theatre from Lithuania, inspired by Lithuanian folk stories and legends. We will also see Marcin Janus’s interdisciplinary project spectral layers of movement and Breathless – a graduation show prepared by 4th year students at the Dance Theatre Faculty in Bytom at the Stanisław Wyspiański Academy of Performance Art (formerly the Ludwik Solski Academy for Dramatic Art). The event culminates with an evening of premieres during which resident artists selected through a competition present their own spectacles. All that’s left for us to do is watch with bated breath as the dancers’ bodies move while seemingly defying gravity!
