Time: 19-21 May. Space: the Main Market Square and science labs and workshops in Kraków. Patron: Stanisław Lem. That’s the summary of this year’s Science Festival in Kraków. The inspiration for festival events is “Time and Space”, interpreted in many different ways by Stanisław Lem, philosopher, futurologist and one of Poland’s finest sci-fi authors. This year we are marking the 95th anniversary of his birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.
Scientific institutions across the city, led by the Pedagogical University, have prepared an extensive programme of workshops, demonstrations, concerts, presentations and tours. Once again the focus of attention will be the Science Festival Village at the Main Market Square, where guests will be able to expand their understanding of chemistry, physics, astronomy, biology and even forestry!
