Here, you will see seven museum halls filled with artefacts from the history of music playback devices spanning 130 years.

A smartphone in your pocket - this is all you need to listen to music anywhere you want these days. We have come a long way since the golden ages of the phonograph and the gramophone. If you want to experience that journey, you should see the 150 exhibits at permanent exhibition at the Museum of Phonography in Niepołomice. During the tour, you will see seven museum halls filled with artefacts from the history of music playback devices spanning 130 years, ranging from phonographs and crank-operated gramophones, through their electric counterparts, lamp-based radio sets, first digital radios, all the way to cassette decks, VCRs, Walkmans and CD players. The Museum offers its youngest visitors a glimpse into the history of devices that their parents and grandparents used to listen to music, while the older visitors will experience a blast from the past. The tour concludes in a listening room with a collection of more than 2000 LPs - you can enjoy music played on the latest and the greatest hardware while lounging and relaxing on comfortable beanbags.
