The Niepołomice Royal Castle, which is now referred to as the second Wawel Castle thanks to its Renaissance courtyard, was used by Polish kings, starting with Casimir the Great, when they wanted to take a brief respite from everyday duties, hunt in the Niepołomice Forest and rule the state. The museum, which was established in the castle halls, offers an opportunity to encounter history and art. The Cloth Hall in Niepołomice 2. Known and Unknown exhibition features more than 130 paintings and 25 sculptures from the collection of the National Museum in Kraków - works by Henryk Siemiradzki, Jan Stanisławski, Artur Grottger, Leon Wyczółkowski, Piotr Michałowski, Stanisław Witkiewicz and Jacek Malczewski. The exhibition, which encompasses eight halls, is a great opportunity to explore the history of 19th-century Polish art, with its landscapes, portraits of prominent Poles, as well as religious and historical scenes. The vast majority of the works was never previously shown to the public - the exhibition title is a clear reference to this fact.
