Going all the way back to when Kraków was just a tiny settlement, the history of the city’s development based on exhibits from the collection of the Museum of Krakow, models, replicas, films and digital reconstructions: the exhibition Cyberteka. Kraków – Time and Space takes participants on a journey through the centuries.
Displayed in six rooms of the Krzysztofory Palace and based on research into reconstructing and visualising early historic buildings, the exhibition is the perfect complement to the underground trail under the Main Market Square. If you haven’t experienced it for yourself, hurry along – the beautiful palace has been undergoing extensive restoration for several years, and the exhibition closes on 29 November.
It takes us on a journey in time: from prehistoric days, via Kraków being granted city rights in 1257 and its growth through the centuries, to the Great Kraków project which vastly expanded the city between 1909 and 1915. We will encounter images of past events and long gone buildings which offer a fresh look at today’s world. (Dorota Dziunikowska, “Karnet” monthly)
