Leave the Door Ajar

2020 marks the 20th anniversary of Energy Field – organisers of the International Art Festival Biwako Biennale in Omihachiman in Shiga Prefecture. Titled Cosmic Dance, the ninth festival takes place in September and welcomes over 70 artists. Before then, in January, the Manggha Museum presents works by two participants: the Paris-based graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow Gabriela Morawetz and Masato Tanaka from Japan. Interactive spatial installations forming the Leave the Door Ajar exhibition transport us to another dimension – an alternative world inspired by things which are fascinating because they are distant and unknown. What will we find on the other side?
