Penderecki, Szymanowski, Paderewski – music by Polish composers resounds at the Kraków Philharmonic on 11 November. The concert forms a part of the project of Poland’s biggest musical publishing house PWM Edition 100 for 100. Musical Decades of Freedom, aiming to record and publish a hundred masterpieces of Polish music written during the century since Poland regained independence in 1918. The programme also includes the publication of music scores and books for adults and children. It culminates with 22 concerts resounding on Independence Day in cities across Poland including Warsaw, Gdańsk Poznań, Białystok and Wrocław, and further afield from Chicago to Tokyo and from Copenhagen to Melbourne. And the live radio and TV broadcasts bring the performances to audiences the world over.
