Dazzling Fame
He started his career in the 1980s, playing classic house in underground clubs in Paris. Today David Guetta sets trends as one of the most popular DJs around the globe – in fact he is the main reason why club music is a mainstay of radio playlists the world over. He first rose to fame with his compilations bearing the… evocative… title Fuck Me, I’m Famous, but he entered the mainstream with music collaborations with stars such as Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. He recorded the anthemic This One’s For You! for the Euro 2016 football championships in France, captivating fans and newcomers to the sport. He has also discovered and supported many popular artists including Avicia, Afrojack and Nicky Romero.
Guetta’s favourite book is Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince, which goes some way to explaining how he stays young at heart despite being half a century old – although being teetotal and a non-smoker is bound to help. He has played to two-million strong crowds during the Carnival in Brazil, so he won’t have any trouble entertaining the audience at Tauron Arena Kraków on 27 January.
