Vladimirska is a band based in Krakow, Poland, comprised of musicians from Canada, France and Poland. It began as the solo project of Canadian songwriter and musician Scotia Gilroy and has now grown into a 6-member band. Focused around Scotia’s natural, unique singing style, Vladimirska is an unusual indie folk-pop project playing stirring, uplifting songs that are tinged with a carnivalesque spirit.

Vladimirska’s second album, Paper Birds, was released by Gusstaff Records on February 10, 2017. It was Radio Krakow’s “Album of the Week” (February 6-10, 2017) and the title song “Paper Birds” was featured by Trójka (Polish National Radio 3) as its “Song of the Day” on February 2, 2017.

"Stylish, old-fashioned and totally distinct from everyone else [...]. They are beyond doubt one of the most interesting new phenomena on the Polish music scene." – Marcin Flint, t-mobile-music.pl

"Sometimes joyful, sometimes melancholy [...] Vladimirska weaves enchanting motifs and ethereal melodies into nostalgic but carefree, lively songs." – Jacek Świąder, Gazeta Wyborcza

Karl Culley is an English finger style guitarist, songwriter, singer and poet currently living in Krakow. His percussive guitar style has drawn comparison to John Martyn, José González and Bert Jansch.

“…dazzling acoustic guitar picking reminiscent of John Martyn at his most fluid/ there’s certainly a haunted quality to it” - MOJO
