André Rieu has his own orchestra, a 300-year-old Stradivari violin, a full-size replica of the Viennese Schönbrunn as a backdrop to his concerts, and a perfect formula for bringing happiness to millions of listeners, from his hometown of Maastricht to faraway Australia. The king of the waltz and his Johann Strauss Orchestra perform in Kraków on 24 May, filling the Tauron Arena Kraków with compositions by Strauss, traditional pieces from all over the globe and cinematic hits. The Dutch violinist and conductor also acts as compere, announcing each piece and cracking plenty of jokes – and all this in the rhythm of a waltz! (Barbara Skowrońska)
