Czesław Niemen, SBB, Maanam, and more recently Brodka and Dawid Podsiadło – but what links these artists? They all tried to conquer music scenes abroad with a varying degree of success. The stories of their triumphs and tribulations reveal that the American dream requires hard work, determination, luck, and – more than anything – knowledge. What do you need to do for your music to conquer the world? What’s the best way of “selling” it? We’ll find out on 11 and 12 November at Skład Długa. Hear The City 2016: Export is a conference providing answers to these and other questions. The event also features a music festival section presenting independent local bands ready for export. Over the two days, Kraków’s clubs host groups including Hańba!, Balkanscream, Ketha, Kubaterra, Salk, So Flow, Taraban and The Fuse. (AJ)
