The fifth Kromer Biecz Festival (6-13 August) is dedicated to Baroque music. Beautiful buildings of the Małopolska town, including the Church of Corpus Christi, host eminent performers of early music. We will see the French cellist Bruno Cocset with his ensemble, the {oh!} Historical Orchestra and the artistic alliance between His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts and Narol Baroque ensembles, presenting Music at the Vasa Court during the finale.
We will also hear cantatas and operatic arias performed by soprano Olga Pasiecznik, Bach’s harpsichord partitas interpreted by Martin Gesler and works by Monteverdi, Merula and Kapsberger performed by the Slovak Baroque ensemble Le Nuove Musiche on viola da gamba, theorbo and chittarone. Stepping beyond the Baroque, the concert George Frederic Pinto: Forgotten Romantic features Marek Toporowski playing historic piano at the Church of St. Anne.
