Golden Ocrober

1 October 2017

The ancient proverb proclaiming October to be a frugal month certainly doesn’t apply in Kraków this month! We all want to pick up the latest releases at the Book
Fair and take part in the extraordinary events held as part of the Sacrum Profanum, Unsound and Krakow Jazz Autumn festivals and countless concerts, including
those showcasing Cracovian masters such as Marek Grechuta, Zygmunt Konieczny, Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz and the group Kroke. Or perhaps you’re after something
more international? You can find inspiration with concerts and spectacles including the “Triadic Ballet”, the 7xGospel Festival and Sting appearing at Tauron Arena Kraków. If we add the return of students and their cultural lives and the reopening of the modernised club Studio – the city’s latest top music destination – the panorama of autumn events is bursting at the seams. Where did this success come from? We can find out during the Dźwigacze Kultury conference, organised by the Krakow Festival Office to celebrate its twentieth anniversary.

And even with myriad events which won’t break the bank – such as the Conrad Festival, Poetry Night recalling Stanisław Wyspiański and the surprise-filled family event “Hello, ICE Kraków!” – don’t expect to be frugal in October: it’s a month worth its weight in gold and we simply must make the most of the treasure trove of events.

Take courage!
