Green Kraków, or Fabulous Holidays!

8 July 2016

Can you list all the parks and green spaces in Kraków? There are plenty of them, from the Wolski Forest to the Nowa Huta Reservoir! They are all worth visiting and nurturing as regular meeting spots for local communities and places for sports and fun and games for kids.

The campaign “Green Kraków”, inaugurated in July, continues on all Saturdays throughout August. The City of Kraków, Kraków Park Administration, the Krakow Festival Office and Radio Kraków invite one and all to come along to have fun in the shade of the trees in one of Kraków’s parks. The Planty park brings music, the Jordan Park presents its skate park, while the Bednarski Park in Podgórze is perfect for running and the Kościuszko Park hosts zumba classes. Each meeting among the green will be different, but they all promise plenty of attractions for young and old and encourage participants to get together to spend their free time. DJs from Radio Kraków take us on a journey through hip-hop dance (6 August at Jordan Park), funk and soul (13 August at Bednarski Park) and a trip in time to the days of communist Poland (20 August at the Tysiąclecia Park). The last summertime meeting at Jordan Park is held over two days: Saturday 27 August is filled with fun for kids and families, and Sunday 28 August promises something special for seniors. We’ll also be supporting Poland’s volleyball team at the Olympics, practicing yoga and strolling with a city guide who’s bound to reveal some of Kraków’s secrets!

Make sure you visit the event’s website – it describes Kraków’s green spaces which over the summer will be bustling with music, artistic workshops and sports activities. (bf)
