Sinfonietta Cracovia marks its 30th anniversary in myriad ways: with guests from London, over a cup of espresso, among old friends, at the opera, at a picnic, and of course with a year-long music programme which picks up speed in spring. Anniversary events culminate in June. The programme, ranging from Handel’s Water Music to a world premiere of a composition by Mikołaj Majkusiak, will be performed by Sinfonietta Cracovia joined by some of its former members, including Piotr Tarcholik (now concertmaster with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and Janusz Widzyk, double-bassist with the Berlin Philharmonic) on 9 June.
