Postmodernism vs. the Pandemic
Sound, imagery and experimentation are all terms associated with the Audio Art Festival. During this year’s 28th edition (13-22 November), Kraków once again welcomes artists who intertwine visual and audio arts to create concerts, performances and myriad installations. Most events are hosted at Hevre, with two concerts held at the Academy of Music in Kraków. The programme features projects initiated in Poland and Europe (Berlin, the Hague) and developed on the other side of the Atlantic (Montreal, Louisville). A notable one is Muzyka Centrum Time Machine – a precis of a thousand concerts held over the course of four decades of the existence of the Muzyka Centrum Art Society, organisers of the event. The festival closes with Pandemic Media Space – the outcome of the partnership between the Polish Society of Electroacoustic Music and its sister association in Ukraine. All events are free and will be streamed live online. (Bartosz Suchecki, “Karnet”)
