Hot on the heels of the success of the 60th Krakow Film Festival, the first event of its kind in Poland to be held entirely online, the Krakow Film Foundation is launching its latest virtual project KFF VOD.
The platform streams fascinating documentaries, animations and short films in specially prepared thematic sets for a few days each month. They include hits from the previous festival, cult films from all periods and premieres.
Between 26 October and 1 November, the Krakow Film Festival website presents documentaries as part of the cycle These Incredible Men. The protagonists are fathers, teachers, mentors, ordinary people dealing with extraordinary roles. We will meet men entangled in difficult relationships, passionately engaging with what’s most important in their lives. Films include Alexandru Brendea’s Hey Teacher! telling the story of a Transylvanian maths teacher who leaves behind mainstream education, Federico Borgia and Guillermo Madeiro’s The Champion of the World about a former leading bodybuilder who now devotes his time to caring for his teenage son, Joonas Berghall’s documentary The Happiest Man on Earth exploring gender roles, and Mo Scarpelli’s El Father Plays Himself recounting the filming of a documentary shot in the Amazon jungle.
