Cinematic Emotions
The Manhattan Short Film Festival is the only event in the world held on six continents at the same time, at over 400 cinemas, bringing together hundreds of thousands of viewers. On 4 October, Cracovian film lovers gather at Pod Baranami Cinema to join audiences from all over the globe to choose the overall winner – and there are plenty to choose from!
Perhaps you’ll be moved by the story of a teenage girl from Iran entangled in the drugs trade (Exam, dir. Sonia K. Hadad), or the businessman who, at the verge of death, encounters his elderly dog he’d cruelly abandoned a few years previously (Hey, Gray, dir. Nikita Khozyainov)? We’ll giggle helplessly watching a squirrel conducting a night choir comprising opera-loving woodland creatures (Maestro, dir. Florian Babikian, Victor Caire), sympathise with the frustrated Dejan impotently trying to renewing the registration papers for his car (Sticker, dir. Georgi M. Unkovski) or feel for the man searching for his stolen bicycle (White Eye, dir. Tomer Shushan). And we’ll certainly keep our fingers crossed for the Palestinian man hoping to find a gift for his wife on their anniversary (The Present, dir. Farah Nabulsi).
All films are screened in their original languages with English subtitles and no Polish dubbing.
