The Tyniec Organ Recitals are a regular instalment of the summer cultural programme, so music fans will be delighted to hear that the Benedictine Abbey will resound with music once again! Poland’s oldest monastery, situated on a limestone hill by the Vistula, hosts concerts on Sundays 12 and 26 July and 9 and 23 August

The festival opens with Jakub Woszczalski, joined by soprano Blanka Dembosz-Tondera performing works by composers of different eras: from Johann Sebastian Bach, via Felix Mendelssohn and Antonín Dvořák, to Maurice Duruflé. The second concert in July also features masterpieces of the Baroque (Bach and Bruhns) and improvisations by young musicians: Daniel Strządała on organ and Gabriel Niedziela on guitar. The first concert in August is dedicated to st. John Paul II and features works from Fryderik Chopin, Johann Sebastian Bach and Mieczysław Surzyński, while the second one is a journey of composers – such as Jean Cras or Roque da Conceição – coming from different places: from France and Portugal to Puerto Rico!
