The presentation of premiere projects selected through the open competition ShowOFF is as important as the main programme of the festival. From 26 June, the space of the Tytano complex shows eight individual exhibitions prepared with four curators regarded as experts in visual arts.

Andrea Copetti oversaw Oktawian Jurczykowski creating his Red Has a Dark Value in Black and White Photos (the project, centred on Józef Piłsudski, combines contemporary and archival images) and Domenico Camarda’s Liquido: Water Dreams of Itself, which focuses on the increasingly fluid concept of identity in the current world. Joanna Rzepka-Dziedzic looked after exhibitions by two architects and photographers: Aleksandra Nowysz’s A Better Tomorrow exploring the utopian dimension of urban allotments, and Agata Read’s Lemany – concentrated on a village in the Kashubian region where she spent her childhood holidays. Bart Kręzołek who abandoned a career in finance for his passion for photography also reaches to his childhood for inspiration for his exhibition Mute, prepared with Joanna Kinowska. The curator also worked with journalist and activist Joanna Szpak Ostachowska on her project Small Town recalling post-Jewish spaces. Finally, Mateusz Sarełło curated Jakub Staniak’s In Anticipation of the Sun exploring issues of environmental pollution and smog and Dominik Wojciechowski’s deeply personal portrayal of his family’s breakdown The Castle.
