Cinematic Corrida
From the capital city of Madrid, via Basque Country to Catalonia and Andalusia – Pod Baranami Cinema takes us on a cinematic journey through Spain for the 20th time. The Spanish Film Week is Poland’s only event dedicated to the cinematography of the Iberian Peninsula, and it is a true celebration for everyone who loves sunshine, travel and Mediterranean lifestyles. We will see major box office hits and indie and art productions. The latter include Salvador Simó’s surrealist animation Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles, awarded at many film festivals. The Days to Come (dir. Carlos Marques-Marcet) is an intimate tale about the powerful emotions experienced by a young couple expecting their first child. Alejandro Amenabar’s While at War paints a complex portrait of Spain. We will also see directorial debuts bringing a breath of fresh air to the festival: Love Beats by Roberto Bueso and Lucía Alemany’s autobiographical Innocence.
