Marked on 2 November, All Souls’ Day is all about reflection, which in turn encourages contemplation of music. The traditional Prof. Jan Jargoń International Organ All Souls Festival, held for the 16th time, matches the mood of the season perfectly. Concerts are held every day of the festival week at the Jesuit Church, the Church of the Holy Cross and the Pauline and Carmelite Churches, as well as at the Academy of Music. Organists include Pascale Van Coppenolle from Belgium, Aart Bergwerff and Kees van Eersel from the Netherlands, and our very own Arkadiusz Bialic, Agnieszka Tarnawska and Marek Miśkowicz; the latter will be joined by the St Michael Choir. During the finale concert, students at the Academy of Music in Kraków perform music by Louis James Alfred Lefébure-Wély, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the passing of this French composer and organ virtuoso.
