Melodies for the Polish Psalter is the only surviving work by the maestro of Polish Renaissance Mikołaj Gomółka. The Polish Radio Choir presents a selection of the 16th-century compositions set to Biblical psalms translated by Jan Kochanowski; the musicians are accompanied by Anna Wiktoria Swoboda (lute) and Tomasz Sobaniec (percussion) under the artistic guidance of Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett.
The concert is the result of a special project: Budzińska-Bennett and the Polish Radio Choir are recording a series of albums with the full collection of psalms, the first of which was released last year.
