Traditional Japanese woodcuts ukiyoe, known as “pictures of the floating world”, were a powerful influence on early French impressionists and continue to enchant art lovers all over the globe. The exhibition Masterpieces of ukiyoe. Utamaro, Sharaku, Hokusai, Hiroshige, Kuniyoshi at the Manggha Museum showcases artworks by the finest 18th and 19th century artists working in the genre compiled by the Japanese collector Ei Nakau.
