The Cracovian vocal ensemble Flores Rosarum launched an album Ad cælestrem Jerusalem perducando… earlier this year, featuring songs by St. Hildegard of Bingen.
The 12th-century visionary, Church reformer and composer believed that music can be understood as a spiritual route to God.
We will hear a contemporary take on mystical songs from nine centuries ago during the concert promoting the album.
Songs from the cycle Symphonia harmoniæ cælestium revelationum resound on 16 September in Congregation of the Mission's Church.
