This year’s Rooftop Cinema at the International Cultural Centre accompanies the exhibition Skopje. City, Architecture and the Art of Solidarity.
Throughout August, we will see films featuring Balkan themes, including Oliver Stone’s superproduction Alexander about the Macedonian leader and strategist (8 August) and the Bosnian drama Grbavica telling the story of a single mother and her daughter (dir. Jasmila Žbanić; 22 August). The cycle closes with Petro Aleksowski’s The Macedonian – a Polish documentary about Greek and Macedonian children evacuated to Poland during the civil war in Greece (29 August). Entry to all screenings is free with passes available from www.evenea.pl.
