Summer Cinema
From the austere Sakha Republic to hot Sicily, from the enchanting Kłodzko Valley to the Land of the Cherry Blossom – Mikro Cinema takes us on a breathtaking cinematic journey through some of the most fascinating productions of recent years.
During the August instalment of the Wkinowzięci – Summertime Good Cinema Review (until 5 September) we will see films including Gaspar Noé’s psychedelic horror Climax and two productions straight from sunny Italy: Happy as Lazzaro (dir. Alice Rohrwacher) and Perfect Strangers (dir. Paolo Genovese). We join Sam on his aimless exploration Under the Silver Lake (dir. David Robert Mitchell) and visit an elderly couple who live out their lives remembering their daughter Ága (dir. Milko Lazarov). We also find our way to an Estonian village where beliefs in spirits and werewolf come to the fore every November (dir. Rainer Sarnet), and discover the meaning of Birds of Passage (dir. Ciro Guerra, Cristina Gallego).
