Tokyo by Autobahn
You hear “Minami” and your mind turns towards Japan, then you slam your mental brakes on when the next word is “Deutsch”. You’re probably confused, but both trails are correct. Kyotaro Miula founded Minami Deutsch in Tokyo in 2014, yet spiritually he is based firmly in 1970s Germany, when Neu! and Can led the krautrock exploration to the motorik beat. He recruited more musicians for the project and expanded his European sounds with Far Eastern direction: the pulsating, hypnotic, cold notes are enriched with dreamy Japanese vocals. On 30 August at Alchemia, guests from the Land of the Cherry Blossom are joined by Pył from Gdynia, exploring psychedelic rock and classic shoegazing. (Bartosz Suchecki, ”Karnet”)
