Fields of Songs
The music industry is highly competitive: some musicians try to attract attention with an unexpected launch, some enjoy sowing controversy, while others focus on spectacular live shows. In the middle of all this, Sting experiments with song formats. “I keep tinkering with them. I want them to sound as contemporary as possible,” the British artist explains. This may sound surprising – after all, the original version of Every Breath You Take is the most frequently played track in the history of radio, coming ahead of over 14 million competitors. This clearly hasn’t affected Sting’s plans: after a busy period working on the musical The Last Ship, the brand-new album 57th & 9th and joint tours with Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel and Shaggy, he is turning back to hits from his time with The Police and his solo repertoire. Refreshed versions of classic tracks are included on the album My Songs – head to Tauron Arena Kraków on 2 November to hear them performed live! (Bartosz Suchecki, “Karnet”)
