Last Minute Cinema
Cinema on a terrace in the heart of Kraków, or perhaps charming hidden auditoriums in old Podgórze? The 16th Summer Cinema Journeys (until 30 August) at Agrafka and Kika cinemas take us on a trip down the Lost Highway (dir. David Lynch), and let us explore The Distances (dir. Elena Trapé). Need a break among nature? The thrilling documentaries The Dawn Wall (dir. Josh Lowell, Peter Mortimer) and Free Solo (dir. Jimmy Chin, Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi) take us on a journey to the Yosemite National Park in California, home to El Capital – the infamous rock formation soaring over a kilometre into the sky and attracting climbers from all over the globe. We finish the summer holidays by reliving the adventures of The Good Soldier Schwejk (dir. Karel Steklý) and admiring The Shiny Shrimps (dir. Cedric Le Gallo, Maxime Govare). Then it’s just time to sing “Summer’s almost gone”…
