The best films of the season and productions awarded at some of the most important international film festivals: the Cinematic Spring Film Festival at Pod Baranami Cinema (10-16 June) presents the finest aspects of contemporary cinema for the fifth time. The programme includes the story of the unusual friendship between a young Viennese tobacconist and his regular customer Sigismund Freud in the shadow of the impending Nazism in The Tobacconist, Julie Bertuccelli’s latest film Claire Darling starring the superb Catherine Deneuve, and The Mystery of Henri Pick based on a popular novel by David Foenkinos. Fans of the acclaimed Cuban ballet dancer Carlos Acosta will be delighted by Yuli (dir. Icíar Bollaín) – a screen adaptation of his bestselling autobiography and starring the artist himself.
