Waiting for Autumn
Springtime weather has been rather autumnal this year, hardly inspiring enthusiasm. The Krakow Jazz Autumn provides the best of the season. We will hear a taster of the festival of improvisation at the threshold of summer. On 13 June, the cult cellar club Alchemia welcomes Escalator, bringing together the saxophonist, clarinettist and maestro of improvisation from Chicago Ken Vandermark with the bassist Marek Tokar from Lviv and the German percussionist Klaus Kugel. The programme features myriad references to the early days of free jazz. Everything else will be a surprise! The elemental music in the heart of Kazimierz will be impossible to resist.
