A Journey to Romania
At the 12th Festival of Romanian Culture in Kraków (10-12 May), Pod Baranami Cinema and the Romanian Cultural Institute in Warsaw take us on a cinematic journey to the land of Dracula! We will see Paul Negoescu’s The Story of a Summer Lover hailed as a tribute to Woody Allen’s neurotic love stories, Pororoca by one of the leading artists of Romanian new wave Constantin Popescu, and Daniel Sandu’s One Step Behind the Seraphim revealing the ups and downs of life in a seminary. There is also an evening of short films and a screening for kids introducing young viewers to Mihaela – the delightful protagonist of an animated TV series showed in Romania in the 1970s and 1980s.
