For the Love of Dance
To celebrate the International Day of Dance, Kino Kika hosts a Dancing Weekend (26-28 April)! The event is packed with feature films and documentaries exploring dance. We will see the Golden Globe-nominated Girl (dir. Lukas Dhont) telling the story of a teenaged trans girl dreaming of becoming a ballerina, Tomer Heymann’s documentary Mr. Gaga about the acclaimed choreographer Ohad Naharin and his legendary Batsheva Dance Company, Bobbie Jean (dir. Elvira Lind) focusing on a talented dancer from the ensemble, and the moving drama Five Dances (dir. Alan Brown) about the budding romance between two young dancers. On 27 April, Kino Agrafka presents a special screening of The Sleeping Beauty from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Let’s dance!
