Kirszenbaum is an award-winning duo hailing from Krakow, Poland, combining a few unrelated musical worlds into one, dark postfolk soundscape. Drawing their inspiration from all sorts of literary figures, bands such as Junip or songwriters like Nick Cave, Kirszenbaum is on a constant trip from Tove Jansson to Friedrich Nietzsche and beyond – there and back again, in eternal return.
Having started in 2017, Kirszenbaum gave dozens of concerts in Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Czech Republic, appeared at numerous alt music festivals (Green Zoo Festival, Folkowisko Festival, Skowronkowy Jarzmin, Tak Brzmi Miasto, Polen Allergie), was aired on some of the biggest Polish radio stations (Radio Kraków, National Polish Radio 1, 2 and 3), won the Kraków Synestezje Festival 2017 and Dragon Folk Fest 2018, gathered awards at Nowa Tradycja Festival 2018 and FAMA Festival 2018, and played as an opening act for renowned artists such as Fisz Emade Tworzywo, Żywiołak, Warsaw Village Band or the Canadian band Yamantaka//Sonic Titan.
