Majestic Mountains
The summer holidays are almost over, so let’s head to Zakopane! Where else would the 14th Meetings with Mountain Film be held if not the Tatras?
The festival (30 August – 2 September) features myriad activities, attractions and news. The programme of the main film section includes numerous premieres of films about mountains and their exploration. We will learn about high-altitude climbs at some of the most inaccessible corners of the globe, and meet acclaimed mountaineers, alpinists, mountain rescuers, doctors, filmmakers and authors. The festival also welcomes the participants in the recent winter ascent on K2 for the first time. The programme includes the Zako Boulder Power bouldering competition, workshops held as part of the Mountain Academy, meetings and discussions with bloggers and the festival’s first ever official fell run. And of course there will be plenty of attractions for kids – mountaineers of the future! This year features the first Zako Boulder Power Kids and Zako Boulder Power Family competitions. The competition arena is set up Górna Równień Krupowa meadow next to the festival village, hosting events for kids aged between seven and 16 and for children and parents.
