For the last forty years, the 42d International Folk Art Fair has been the perfect opportunity to see and buy earthenware, embroidered fabrics, wooden figurines and intricate lace, often made by craftsmen and women during the fair.

Folk arts and crafts, artistic handicrafts, ethno design… Folk styles are the height of fashion in rural and urban settings alike, as shown during the 42nd International Folk Art Fair in Kraków (9-26 August). The Main Market Square hosts practitioners of ancient industries such as pottery, lacemaking, weaving, sculpting and embroidery, presenting and selling their wares. The fair is accompanied by performances by over 700 artists including 170 folklore ensembles from Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Cyprus, Italy and Spain. The all-singing, all-dancing pageants present representatives of regions neighbouring Kraków and Małopolska. There will also be craft workshops in embroidery, pottery and wood whittling and carving.
