After Dark

When night falls, cultural life takes on a new energy – Kraków never sleeps! We’ll find out for ourselves during Theatre Night. As always, major theatres and independent stages present the best spectacles of the last season.

The 12th Theatre Night (16 June) features almost 70 cultural events! Most of the plays are in Polish, but we also have a few suggestions for our English-speaking audiences! :) The Kraków Cultural Forum presents the English-language How to Ruin a Great Play! directed by Don Allen, while Odwrócony Theatre brings Szymon Budzyk’s play based on real-life events Forbidden Love. There will also be plenty of outdoor performances. Head to Róż Avenue in Nowa Huta to see Mourners – a play without words by Wokół Centrum Group – and to the Podgórski Squeare for Hothaus Theatre’s dance spectacle I Have Killed a Brother of Mine. The crème de la crème will be KTO Theatre’s White-and-Red celebrating the centenary of Poland’s independence.
