Kraków’s seven synagogues open their doors to visitors for the eighth time on the night of 26 May. During 7@nite. Synagogues by Night, we can visit Kraków’s oldest (Old), smallest (Remuh) and most imposing (Isaac) synagogue. They also reveal gems of the arts, crafts and architecture. We can admire a polychrome depicting a table for twelve showbreads symbolising the twelve tribes of Israel (Kupa), 36 stained glass windows (Tempel) and Poland’s oldest and largest Renaissance aron hakodesh (High). The Wolf Popper Synagogue presently hosts a bookshop.
Each synagogue has prepared events for the special night, including exhibitions, workshops, lectures, spectacles, tours and concerts. (bf)
