Dance in Nowa Huta
Theorists, practitioners and enthusiasts of contemporary dance, let’s join forces and head to Nowa Huta! Not for a Mayday parade, of course – those days are thankfully behind us. We are heading to the Contemporary Dance Festival SPACER (30 April – 6 May, Nowa Huta Cultural Centre) – a celebration of contemporary dance once again revealing a whole new aspect of Kraków’s “youngest sister” and showing that the district isn’t just a relic of the communist era. We will see performances from all over Poland, including three Cracovian premieres: Dobre Wychowanie by Grupa Wokół Centrum choreographed by Agata Moląg, and the dance projects by Marta Wołowiec and by Marcin Janus. The stage of the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre also welcomes the Lublin Dance Theatre, the ROZBARK Dance and Movement Theatre from Bytom, Paweł Sakowicz and Renata Piotrowska. As usual, the festival is accompanied by dance workshops for professional and amateur dancers and kids. (js)
