Camille Thomas is the first female cellist to have signed a deal with Deutsche Grammophon and the first cello virtuoso for over forty years joining the acclaimed label. This is testament of the young French/Belgian artist’s extraordinary talent. She appears on 20 and 21 April at the Kraków Philharmonic, performing Richard Strauss’ symphonic poem Don Quixote in which cello represents the main protagonist with viola, tuba and bass clarinet creating a musical vision of the loyal Sancho Pansa. The tale of the knight-errant is accompanied by Vivaldi’s captivating Gloria. The soloists and Orchestra and Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic are led by Charles Olivieri-Munroe.
