Feast for the Eyes
Delicious fairytale outfits, live music, breathtaking acrobatics – success guaranteed! Each Cirque du Soleil spectacle is a feast for the eyes and makes audiences stare in childlike wonder.
It’s hard to believe that Canada’s Cirque du Soleil started 34 years ago as a 20-strong ensemble of street artists – stilt-walkers, jugglers, fire-eaters, dancers and musicians. It has grown into a factory of entertainment employing over five thousand people; they have a permanent stage in Las Vegas, and they tour the entire globe. The performers have been seen by almost 100 million people in 300 cities in over forty countries in all continents, bar Antarctica. The numbers are certainly impressive! It’s also worth adding that it’s the only circus in the world not featuring animals.
The artists, suspended high above the stage on silk ropes and flying and dancing on trapezes, seem to defy gravity. But the Cirque du Soleil spectacles aren’t just about acrobatics: there are also fabulous sets, beautiful music and surprising twists to the narrative. The artists come to Kraków with Ovo, taking us on a journey into a dazzling world of insects. We will learn about ecosystems teeming with life where bugs work, eat, crawl, fly, play, fight and search for love among the constant hustle and bustle.
