Friday on My Mind
They announced their breakup in 2007, when they were at the peak of their popularity. The farewell concert by the Ukrainian duo 5’nizza – their name is a stylised transliteration of the Ukrainian for “Friday” – was held at Studio in Kraków. The artistic paths of the school friends Andrii Zaporozhets (vocalist and paediatrician) and Serhii Babkin (guitarist and professional actor) crossed again in 2015. They have since released a brand-new album Ku, and they return to Kraków on 23 March 2018 (Friday, of course!) to perform at Studio once again.
5’nizza’s sound is acoustic with intricate roots and recognisable elements of reggae, Latino music, poetry, jazz and hip-hop. The musicians and singer-songwriters perform lively songs and atmospheric ballads, with a stripped-down sound of voices, guitars and occasional beatboxing. They have a fantastic rapport with the audience, so we can expect a spectacular performance and plenty of unexpected, spontaneous twists.
