Violet is a Portuguese producer and DJ, co-founder of Rádio
Quântica and half of all-girl rap crew A.M.O.R. Since debuting via Wicked Bass Records, Violet's music managed to grab the attention of key figures of the scene. Artists such as Snuff Crew, Terry Farley, Matias Aguayo and Phillip Sherburne have played her tracks in some of the finest clubs worldwide. Part of Portuguese rave crew One Eyed Jacks' DNA, where Violet has released two EPs, she's in the Berlin-bred label Snuff Trax roster and was also invited by Matias Aguayo to participate in a cover versions project for his acclaimed “The Visitor” album, released on Cómeme. Last year her cover version of Underground Resistance's classic "Transition", with an all-girl squad of vocal collaborations, caught the attention of the Underground Resistance crew themselves as well as Ben Sims, Pitchfork, Fact Magazine and NPR. Later in 2015, Versace used it for their SS16 collection and commissioned her to do a new piece for the Haute Couture collection of the same season. Those pieces were acclaimed by press outlets like Vogue, Dazed, The New York Times and personalities like Alexander Wang and Donatella Versace herself who deemed Violet her new music diva on The Sunday Times.
In 2016 she once again recruited some of the freshest talent around to join her in an all-girl squad and cover Mike Dunn's Chicago house classic 'So Let It Be House' to celebrate International Women's Day – with all proceeds from downloads being donated to Equality Now, an NGO that works for gender equality around the globe. This version caught the attention of Mike Dunn himself, and so far got support and donations from artists like Optimo, Luke Solomon, Dan Beaumont, Mike Servito, Terry Farley, Hannah Holland and more. Violet's DJ sets and hybrid live acts create journeys that embrace classic house as well as abrasive techno, mutant jack beats and her own melodic, percussive productions.
